Overview
Palmetto Packings 1555 is a high-temperature compression packing seal engineered for severe service applications. Made from pure 99% assay graphite filament with fine graphite particle impregnation and interwoven braid construction, this packing is rated to 600°F. Designed to protect rotating and reciprocating shafts, valves, and agitators from fluid leaks while operating in demanding industrial environments.

- Special solid lubricant prevents wicking and reduces coefficient of friction to practically zero without fraying
- Resists high temperatures and pressures, exhibits low coefficient of friction, and transfers heat away from shaft to prevent glazing and scoring
- Graphite coating reduces frictional heat for higher shaft speeds and higher temperatures
- Material effectively dissipates heat, keeping the stuffing box cool and permitting lower leak-off
- Effective on all rotating/reciprocating shafts, valves and agitators; especially effective in digestors and chemical pumps
Technical Specifications
Interwoven™ braid construction with graphite filament core and solid lubricant impregnation. Standard cross-section is square. Provides extended packing and sleeve life by reducing friction and heat generation at the shaft interface.
