Overview
The Allen-Bradley 199-FSMA1 /B is an RC-type surge suppressor engineered to eliminate transient overvoltages in industrial automation circuits. When the circuit to a coil is opened, inductive energy stored in the coil can generate very high transient voltages, and the appropriate surge suppressor absorbs and dissipates the stored energy limiting voltage spikes. This compact module is ideal for controlling voltage stress on sensitive relay contacts, extending equipment life and reducing nuisance shutdowns.
