Overview
Palmetto 1555 compression packing seal is a graphite filament rope seal engineered for severe service applications including centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, valve stems, and rotating agitators. The packing with a graphite coating and a solid lubricant protects rotating and reciprocating shafts, valves, and agitators from fluid leaks in severe service and high-speed applications. This 1/4″ square x 5ft length handy-pak is ideal for maintenance and retrofit work where quick installation and minimal inventory are critical.

- Interwoven braided packing seal made of 99-percent assay graphite filament impregnated with fine graphite particles
- Graphite resists high temperatures and pressures, exhibits low coefficient of friction, and transfers heat away from the shaft to prevent glazing and scoring; the graphite coating further reduces frictional heat to allow higher shaft speeds
- Contains a solid lubricant that provides a bearing film between the shaft and seal to prevent wicking or fraying
