Overview
The Vivid Engineering CLV-402 Camera Link Video Splitter is a precision interface device designed for industrial imaging applications. This device interfaces one CameraLink camera to two frame grabbers using standard CameraLink cables. This enables the use of a second frame grabber for applications requiring parallel or distributed processing, monitoring, etc. The CLV-402 is housed in a sturdy aluminum enclosure, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
Key Features
- High-speed 85 MHz interfaces and supports all CameraLink configurations (base, medium, full) including 80-bit extended mode
- Acts as a high-speed (85 MHz) repeater, doubling the maximum distance between camera and frame grabber
- Multiple CLV-402s may be cascaded to support 4 or 8 frame grabbers
- Incorporates the standard (MDR) connector, with CameraLink cables readily available with the standard (MDR) connector on one end and the mini (HDR/SDR) connector on the other
- Compact aluminum enclosure rated for industrial use
Technical Specifications
- Master frame grabber controls and communicates with camera
- Secondary frame grabber receives video data only
- No support for PoCL (Power over CameraLink)
- MDR connectors (standard CameraLink)
- Cascadable architecture for expanded frame grabber support
Typical Applications
The Vivid Engineering CLV-402 is commonly deployed in:
- Parallel processing systems requiring multiple simultaneous frame grabs
- Distributed monitoring and surveillance setups
