Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1756-ENBT is a ControlLogix EtherNet/IP communication bridge module designed for high-speed Ethernet networking in industrial control systems. This module provides 1-port EtherNet/IP communication supporting 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and delivers 128 CIP connections for EtherNet/IP communication. As a legacy module, it occupies 1 slot in the ControlLogix chassis. This module enables distributed I/O, inter-controller messaging, and connectivity to HMIs and SCADA systems over standard Ethernet networks.
Key Features
- Handles up to 64 TCP and 128 CIP connections for efficient data exchange between controllers, I/O modules, and other devices on an EtherNet/IP network
- Supports 10/100 Mbps communication rates in half or full duplex mode through a single RJ45 port and includes a USB 1.1 port for configuration
- Web-enabled with diagnostic tools and configuration access via standard web browser
- Supports both implicit (I/O) and explicit (messaging) communication using the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) for seamless integration of real-time control
- Compact form factor for space-constrained control cabinets
