Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-OFE2 is a single-slot analog output module for the 1771 I/O chassis family. This current output module delivers four independently isolated channels capable of generating 4–20 mA signals for controlling final control elements, actuators, and proportional devices. With 12-bit binary resolution and 1000V differential isolation per channel, the 1771-OFE2 provides reliable analog command signals in noisy industrial environments while protecting connected equipment from ground loops and transient faults.
Key Features
- 4 Independently Isolated Output Channels: Each channel rated for 850 VDC isolation (1 second), supporting 1000V differential isolation between channels
- 4–20 mA Standard Output Range: Industry-standard live-zero current range for proportional control and modulating equipment
- 12-Bit Binary Digital Resolution: 4096-step resolution for smooth analog control signals
- Single Slot Design: Compact form factor occupies one slot in any 1771 I/O chassis (keying slots 10–12 and 26–28)
- Natural Binary and BCD Data Scaling: Flexible input formats supporting both binary and BCD coding for ±9999 data values
- Backplane Powered: Draws 1.5A @ 5V DC from chassis; no external power supply required
