Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1747-ASB is a Remote I/O Adapter Module designed for the SLC 500 controller platform. This single-slot RIO communication link module occupies the first slot (slot 0) of a 1746 remote chassis. The module acts as an adapter, or slave, on the RIO link and serves as the master of the remote chassis and remote expansion chassis in which it is installed.
The module acts as a gateway between the scanner and the I/O modules residing in the remote chassis and remote expansion chassis. No user programming of the 1747-ASB module is necessary, making it an ideal drop-in solution for I/O expansion in legacy SLC 500 automation systems.
