Overview

The Allen-Bradley 1746-ITB16 Series C is a digital DC input module engineered for the SLC 500 modular controller platform. This module is a SLC 500 fast response discrete sinking input module. This module has Sixteen (16) channels that accepts a nominal input voltage of 24VDC and 10-30 input voltage range. The unit features filter circuitry and optical coupling for reducing signal noise and LED indicators that show the module’s input status values.

The 1746-ITB16 is intended for operation in an environment with a temperature of 32 – 140 °F and a noncondensing relative humidity of 5-95%.

Typical Applications

The 1746-ITB16 is used for input devices that has a relatively rapid or high frequency switching. This module captures this fast switching as pulses, allowing the controller to recognize this fast signal and use them as valid logic signals. The 1746-ITB16 module input values can be accessed by SLC 500 processors using Ladder Logic programming. Applications include high-speed pulse counting, encoder interfaces, and real-time event detection in manufacturing and process control systems.
