Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1489-M2D060 is a thermal-magnetic miniature circuit breaker from the proven 1489-M series, designed for branch circuit protection in industrial and commercial applications. UL489-certified and approved for use in the United States and Canada, this breaker also meets IEC/EN standards for international applications. The Type D trip curve is optimized for highly inductive loads with a 10–20× In (ampere) trip range, making it ideal for motor circuits, solenoids, and inductive equipment.
Key Features
- 6 Amp Rating: Continuous current rating of 6A at 40°C ambient per UL 489/CSA C22.2
- 2-Pole Configuration: Protects dual-phase circuits with synchronized trip
- Type D Trip Curve: Highly inductive 10–20× In rating, ideal for motor loads and high inrush-current equipment
- Voltage Rated: UL/CSA max 240V AC, 96V DC; IEC/EN rated to 400V AC
- Fast Breaking Time: Superior shock and vibration resistance for extreme ambient conditions
- Accessory Compatible: Supports auxiliary contacts, signal contacts, shunt trips, and lockout attachments for UL 508 compliance
- Non-100% Rated: Per UL 489 para 7.1.4.2, load to maximum 80% for extended life

Compatibility & Replacements
Series 1489-M Interchangeability: The 1489-M2D060 operates on the same DIN rail format as all 1489-M breakers. If a C-curve (5–10× In) breaker is currently in service, switching to D-curve requires load reassessment; D-curve allows longer inductive transients before tripping. No direct cross-platform replacement is recommended—always verify voltage and trip curve compatibility with Rockwell Automation technical support or an authorized distributor before substitution. Multiple 1489-M breakers of different ratings and trip curves can coexist on the same bus bar and DIN rail, provided UL 508A panel assembly rules are followed.
