Overview
The Cooper Bussmann 216-R is a Class R rejection fuse reducer designed to allow use of lower-amperage Class R fuses in existing equipment rated for higher-amperage clips. This rejection-type fuse reducer allows use of smaller sized fuses than the holder size, and improves circuit protection by using lower current rated fuses in existing switches and clips which have higher current ratings.
Key Features
- Compatible with RK1 and RK5 class of fuses
- Strong contact maintained between fuse and holder both electrically and mechanically
- Fits into most panels or switches including the dead-front type
- UL listed and CSA certified
- Short-circuit current rating (SCCR) up to fuse interrupting rating
- Supplied as 1 pair per package
Technical Specifications
- Fuse Rating (250V): 60 Amps at 250 Volts
- Fuse Rating (600V): 30 A at 600V
- Clip Rating (250V): 100 Amps at 250 Volts
- Fuse Class: Class R
- Certification: UL listed and CSA certified
- Package Contents: 1 pair of reducers
Typical Applications
Allows 1 – 30 A at 600V and 35 – 60 A at 250V fuse to fit 100 A fuse block, making this reducer ideal for retrofitting industrial control panels, electrical distribution equipment, and motor circuits where smaller-capacity fuses are required but existing infrastructure is rated for higher amperages. Commonly used in HVAC systems, machine tools, and commercial electrical installations requiring better overcurrent protection.
