Overview

The Schneider Electric Multi 9 C60 C15 240V circuit breaker is a thermal-magnetic miniature circuit breaker (MCB) designed for branch circuit and equipment protection in low-voltage industrial applications. This miniature circuit breaker provides protection of equipment or especially sensitive circuits within equipment against electrical threats, including short circuits, overloads and earth leakages. The C-curve trip characteristic makes it ideal for general-purpose circuits with moderate inrush current tolerance.

Key Features

  • Multi-standard compliance: Compact size, easy installation on DIN rails, limits let-thru current, resetability, more convenient than fuses, electrical auxiliaries for control and status information
  • Thermal-magnetic protection: Combines thermal overload and magnetic short-circuit detection for reliable trip response
  • C-curve characteristic: Optimal for general-purpose circuits; tolerates moderate inrush currents
  • High electrical endurance: 10000 cycles electrical durability and 20000 cycles mechanical durability
  • Modular DIN rail design: Space-saving installation with standard DIN rail compatibility
  • Wide voltage compatibility: 240VAC 50/60Hz rated operational voltage

Technical Specifications

  • Rated Current: 15 A
  • Rated Voltage: 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz
  • Trip Curve: C (C-curve, 5–10 × In)
  • Breaking Capacity: 10 kA (UL 489)
  • Insulation Voltage: 500 VAC
  • Magnetic Trip Limit: 8.5–10.2 A (±20% AC)

Typical Applications

Semi-conductor machines, communication equipment, process control panels, computers, medical equipment, electronic controls, transformers, power supplies and other electrical equipment. The Multi 9 C60 is widely used in:

  • Industrial control panels and machinery
  • HVAC and process automation systems
  • Distributed panel boards and switchgear
  • OEM equipment protection
  • General-purpose low-voltage distribution

Compatibility & Replacements

Compatible With

  • Standard DIN rail systems (35 mm TH)
  • Schneider Electric Multi 9 modular architecture accessories and signaling devices
  • Industrial control panels rated 240 VAC
  • Single-phase and three-phase distribution systems with neutral

Replaces / Drop-In Replacement For

The C60 C15 240V replaces earlier Schneider multi-standard MCB models in the same voltage and current class. Verify compatibility with your specific panel or system integrator before ordering to confirm mounting and terminal type (clip-on vs. tunnel terminal) match your installation.

Works With

  • Schneider Electric Multi 9 C60 series modules and accessories
  • DIN-rail mounted control systems
  • IEC/EN 60898-1 and IEC/EN 60947-2 compliant panels
  • UL 489 listed enclosures and switchgear
