The Barnes & Jones 1748 cage unit is a precision-engineered thermostat and seating assembly designed to repair and restore Barnes & Jones C series steam traps. Unlike traditional repair kits with loose components, the 1748 operates as “a trap within a trap,” allowing you to replace the internal working parts while retaining the existing trap body. The unit features a 1/2″ female connection (Type C) and delivers factory-calibrated performance tested under live steam conditions.
