Overview
The ATC Diversified Electronics UPA-130-GOV is a Universal Power Alert voltage detector engineered to enhance electrical safety compliance before panel maintenance. This device reduces the risk of electrical arc flash by pre-verifying electrical isolation from outside a control panel and flashes whenever voltage is present when hardwired to the circuit breaker or main disconnect. The UPA-130-GOV mounts through a 30mm knockout and features redundant circuitry powered by the same voltage it detects.
Key Features
- Reduces electrical arc flash risk by pre-verifying that an electrical panel is dead before it is opened
- Eight-detector design with dual LED indicators (+/−) per input line; AC potentials illuminate both LEDs while DC or stored energy illuminate the appropriate polarity indicator
- Enhances NFPA 70E and OSHA compliance with redundant circuitry and hardwired detection capability
- Self-powered—requires no external power supply
- Engineered with redundant circuitry and powered by the same voltage that it indicates
- UL and cUL Listed under UL File Number E55826
Technical Specifications
Detects 40-750 VAC and 30-1000 VDC voltages with NEMA 4X totally encapsulated construction. The unit includes a 6-foot, four-conductor 18 AWG termination cable for hardwired installation into circuit breaker or main disconnect circuits.
Typical Applications
- Three-phase industrial control panels and motor control centers
- Electrical lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) verification procedures
- Routine panel maintenance and troubleshooting
