Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1394-AM03 servo axis module is a digital AC servo controller designed for precision multi-axis motion control in the 1394 series motion control family. This inverter converts DC power supplied by the system module to variable AC voltage, enabling flexible servo motor drive across demanding industrial applications. One axis module is required for every servo motor to run the 1394 system, and one 1394 system consists of 1-4 axis modules.
Key Features
- Connected to a system module using a slide-and-lock mechanism that eliminates up to 100 wire terminals
- Digitally adjustable velocity in addition to current loop compensation
- 98% efficiency with 110 µF capacitance
- Supports standard GMC, CNC interface, GMC turbo, SERCOS, and analog servo configurations
- Applications include material handling, high-speed packaging, press load/unload, and converting

Typical Applications
The 1394-AM03 axis module is ideal for applications requiring high-performance, multi-axis servo control. Common uses include packaging machinery, material handling systems, press automation, and CNC motion control. The modular design permits easy scaling from single-axis to four-axis configurations within a single 1394 system frame.
Compatibility & Replacements
The 1394-AM03 is interchangeable with the 1394C-AM03 Series C axis module. Series A and Series B variants (1394-AM03-A, 1394-AM03-B) offer enhanced features while maintaining the same core 2kW power rating and DC input voltage specifications. Ensure your system module is compatible with the 1394 series before integration.
