Overview
The Allen-Bradley 22-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter is a communication module that enables PowerFlex AC drives to integrate seamlessly into DeviceNet automation networks. Designed for use with PowerFlex 4, 40, 40P, 400, and 523/525 series AC drives, this module enables integration of PowerFlex drives into a DeviceNet network, providing control and diagnostic data exchange with Rockwell Automation or other DeviceNet-enabled systems. The adapter supports both single and multi-drive topologies, allowing flexibility in system architecture for controls engineers and system integrators.
Key Features
- DeviceNet Communication: Supports a range of data rates, including 125K, 250K, and 500K, enabling configuration to match network requirements
- Multi-Drive Support: Supports single drive or multi drive operation, with single drive operation supporting a single drive installed with one adapter, while multi-drive operation supports both PowerFlex 40 and PowerFlex 4 drives
- DSI Bridge: Serves as a bridge between DeviceNet networks and DSI (Drive Serial Interface) devices, ensuring compatibility and interoperability across different automation components within the PowerFlex 40 series
- Status Monitoring: Comes with three (3) LED status indicators, 20-pin DSI connector, 5-pin DeviceNet connector, node address selector switches and mode jumper for multi-drive operation
- Protocol Support: Supports explicit messaging and automatic device replacement (ADR), polled cyclic and change-of-state data exchange methods
- Configuration: Node addressing via rotary switches or software configuration through RSLogix or Connected Components Workbench (CCW)
