Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1785-ENET is an Ethernet interface expansion module designed to add TCP/IP communication capabilities to PLC-5 processors. This module is designed to add TCP/IP communication capabilities to PLC-5 processors via Channel 3A. The module installs to a 1785 Backplane to provide a PLC5 controller Ethernet connectivity. The /B revision supports a broad range of legacy PLC-5 models and maintains backward compatibility with industrial automation systems requiring network expansion without processor replacement.
Key Features
- One (1) RJ45 Port supporting Ethernet TCP/IP protocol
- Data transmission speed of 10/100 Mbps with auto-negotiation capability
- Built-in status indicators such as STAT, 100M and 10M
- Provides Ethernet connectivity for implementation of Distributed I/O system, communication to visualization systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). It may also be used to communicate with programming devices for downloading of user programs and establishing online connection to the controller.
- When used with an enhanced PLC-5 controller, enables EtherNet connectivity without disabling the DH+/RIO ports
