Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is a Direct Communication Module designed for SLC 500 controllers. This Direct Communication Module has 1746 Backplane Communication and a Universal Remote I/O Adapter Communication Port. It distributes the SLC-500 processor located on the Allen-Bradley RIO Communication Link and lets them transfer data between each other. Each SLC 500 Controller can be connected to the Allen-Bradley Programmable Controller via the RIO Link, providing a distributed processing system.
Key Features
- Single slot module with a backplane current consumption of 360 milliamperes @ 5 Volts DC
- Status LED indicators including FAULT LED and COMM LED
- Serves as a bridge for data exchange on Allen-Bradley RIO networks, supporting scalable and coordinated automation architectures
- DIP switch configuration allows the DCM to interpret the RIO system address correctly
- Operates efficiently between 32°F and 140°F, meeting NEMA ICS 2-230 standards
