Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16 is a current sourcing discrete input module designed for integration within the SLC 500 modular automation platform. This module has sixteen channels that accept a nominal input voltage of 24VDC with an operating voltage range of 10-30VDC. The module features sixteen sourcing input channels, ideally used for interfacing electrical signaling devices such as switches, auxiliary contacts, sensors and other devices that provide binary or ON/OFF signal states. The 1746-IV16 is a single-slot module that enables rapid prototyping and system expansion without redesigning the entire control platform.
Key Features
- Sourcing Configuration: The 1746-IV16 supports source wiring configuration, allowing the module to supply signal voltage to external devices that do not carry their own input voltage.
- Fast Response: The 1746-IV16 has a signal delay of 0.5 ms during off-state and 0.3 ms during on-state.
- Removable Terminal Block: The 1746-IV16 module comes with removable terminal blocks, eliminating the need to disconnect any wires and making module replacement easy.
- Signal Conditioning: It includes filter circuitry and optical coupling for signal noise reduction.
- LED Status Indicators: Troubleshooting becomes easier with LED indicators that show input status ratings.
- Flexible Scaling: Expansion rack and remote I/O racks are both supported by the 1746-IV16.
