Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1203-GK5 Series A is a compact DeviceNet communications module designed to bridge DeviceNet networks and SCANport products in industrial automation systems. The 1203-GK5 module mounts on a DIN rail system and connects to SCANport products with the use of a SCANport cable. This adapter enables seamless communication between programmable controllers and peripheral devices including sensors, motor starters, and variable frequency drives.

The factory-default setting for the data rate is 125K. The factory-default setting is DeviceNet node address 63. Required tools and equipment to set up the 1203-GK5 are as follows: DeviceNet communications module (1203-GK5), either a 5-pin or 10-pin plug-in connector, 35 x 7.5 mm DIN rail, 1/8" flathead screwdriver, and appropriate cables for SCANport and DeviceNet connections.
