The Wilkerson Pneumatic Desiccant Air Dryer X03-02-000A is a manual in-line desiccant dryer designed to effectively remove water vapor from compressed air systems. This dryer is particularly suitable for applications such as paint spraying, laboratory instruments, and small control air systems.
Key Features
- Transparent Bowl: Allows for easy visual monitoring of the desiccant’s condition.
- Desiccant Indicator: Silica gel changes color from blue to pink, signaling the need for desiccant regeneration or replacement.
- Slotted Bowl Guard: Provides additional protection while maintaining visibility of the desiccant.
- No Electrical Connection Required: Operates without the need for electrical power, enhancing safety and ease of installation.
- High Performance: Achieves an atmospheric dew point of -45°F with dry desiccant at 100 PSI and 70°F.
Specifications
- Port Size: 1/4″ NPT
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 150 PSIG (10.3 Bar)
- Maximum Temperature: 125°F (52°C)
- Flow Capacity: 10 SCFM
- Bowl Capacity: 1.64 lb.
Usage and Maintenance
The X03-02-000A is capable of drying up to 4,400 standard cubic feet of air. The desiccant remains effective for approximately 440 minutes at maximum continuous airflow before regeneration is required. To regenerate the silica gel desiccant, heat it to at least 350°F for approximately 3 hours, or until its color changes from pink back to blue. Allow the desiccant to cool to room temperature before reintroducing it into the unit’s bowl.
Additional Considerations
- Filtration: To protect the desiccant bed from contamination, ensure proper filtration of incoming air. Cleaner air results in better performance, longer life, and fewer service issues.
- After-Filter Installation: It is recommended to place an after-filter downstream from the desiccant dryer to prevent solid contaminants, such as desiccant dust, from migrating further into the system.
The Wilkerson X03-02-000A offers a reliable and efficient solution for maintaining dry compressed air in various industrial applications, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of pneumatic equipment.
