Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1785-ENET is an Ethernet interface module designed to add TCP/IP communication capabilities to PLC-5 processors via Channel 3A. This module is used to provide Ethernet connectivity to a PLC-5 controller for implementation of Distributed I/O system, communication to visualization systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and may also be used to communicate with programming devices for downloading of user programs and establishing online connection to the controller.
Key Features
Communication Protocol: This Ethernet interface module has One (1) RJ45 Port supporting Ethernet TCP I/P protocol. It supports data transmission speed of 10/100 Mbps with auto-negotiation capability.
Status Indicators: It has built-in status indicators such as STAT, 100M and 10M. These indicators provide real-time visibility into module status and network link activity.
Power Efficiency: This module has a backplane rating of 1.0 A at 5 Volts DC and dissipates 5 Watts power.
Enhanced Connectivity: When used with an enhanced PLC-5 controller, the 1785-ENET enables EtherNet connectivity without disabling the DH+/RIO ports and conveniently provides Ethernet connectivity with a ControlNet PLC-5 controller. It can also run dual Ethernet links with the Ethernet PLC-5 controller.
