Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1756-LSP is a GuardLogix safety partner processor module designed for use within ControlLogix chassis-based systems. This safety partner controller provides redundancy as a second isolated channel for the system’s safety-related functions. The GuardLogix system is a full-function Logix processor that also provides safety control, using a primary controller and a safety partner to achieve SIL 3, PLe.

Typical Applications
The 1756-LSP is suited for industrial automation systems requiring functional safety architecture. Best suited for PLe and SIL 3 safety applications, meant to be used as the safety partner device within a complete GuardLogix system operating alongside a primary GuardLogix controller module. Common applications include emergency stop systems, safety interlocks, and hazard mitigation in machinery protection and process safety.
Compatibility & Replacements
Compatible for use with 1756-L61S, 1756-L62S, and 1756-L63S primary controllers. One 1756-LSP is required for each GuardLogix controller. The 1756-LSP was discontinued as of June 1, 2017; the functional replacement product is 1756-L7SP. For legacy ControlLogix safety deployments still in service, this Series B module remains available through authorized surplus channels and remains compatible with existing GuardLogix architectures.
