Typical Applications
The TA25DU series is widely used for protecting motors across 0.1–80A and is known for reliability and flexibility, mounting directly onto ABB contactors with consistent trip response. Common uses include:
- Small fractional-horsepower motor protection
- HVAC and pump motors
- Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning motors prone to phase loss and voltage imbalance, with protection ensuring continuous operation in commercial and residential projects
- Machine tool and industrial automation control circuits
Compatibility & Replacements
The TA25DU1.0 is designed for use with ABB A-line contactors (A9, A16, A25, A30, A40) and BC-frame contactors (BC9, BC16, BC25, BC30). Compatible auxiliary coils include the DS25-A for remote electrical tripping and the DR25-A for remote electrical resetting. When selecting a replacement, verify the setting range (code letter) and contactor frame size. Other TA25DU models in different current ranges (0.16A, 0.25A, 0.4A, 0.63A, 1.4A, 1.8A, 2.4A, 3.1A, 4.0A, 5.0A) are available for different motor ratings.
