Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1747-AIC is an isolated link coupler designed to connect SLC 500 family controllers to DH-485 communication networks. The isolated link coupler (1747-AIC) is used to connect SLC 500 family devices to the DH-485 network. This Series B device provides electrical isolation and shielded communication paths to prevent noise interference in industrial control systems.

Typical Applications
Communication between several network devices in the SLC 500 family such as the SLC 5/02, SLC 5/01, and the SLC 5/03 processors and the DH-485 link. Connecting more than 2 SLC 500 processors with a DH-485 link requires 1 isolated coupler on the 1747-AIC drive; 1 link coupler should be connected at each end of the link if a computer or DTAM is linked at a distance greater than 20 feet (6.09 meters).
