Overview
The SMC D-C73 magnetic reed switch sensor is a precision position-sensing device designed for pneumatic cylinder end-position detection in automated industrial systems. This reed switch sensor detects piston position via a built-in magnet in the piston rod, enabling precise end-position sensing in automated systems. An enclosed reed switch is activated by a permanent magnet mounted to the piston, and as the piston approaches, the magnetic field closes the switch, completing an electric circuit and producing an electric signal. It integrates seamlessly with standard D-series cylinders and is ideal for applications requiring reliable, non-contact position feedback.
