Principle of Operation

The GH10XTHEXXXC regulator functions by balancing the force exerted by the range spring on the diaphragm assembly with the output pressure acting beneath the diaphragm. Adjusting the handwheel alters the range spring force, thereby setting the desired output pressure.

In scenarios where the output pressure exceeds the set point, the diaphragm seat lifts from the plug, venting excess pressure to the atmosphere until equilibrium is restored. Conversely, if the output pressure falls below the set point, the unbalanced force from the range spring causes the nozzle plug to unseat, allowing supply pressure to flow through the nozzle to the downstream port, increasing the output pressure until balance is achieved.

For applications requiring enhanced sensitivity and stability, the regulator incorporates a constant bleed feature, keeping the diaphragm in a dynamic state by preventing the nozzle from closing completely. Additionally, a no bleed/no relief diaphragm assembly is available to prevent the process medium from exhausting to the atmosphere, which is particularly useful when handling liquids and toxic gases.
