The Helm Strain Gain HT400 is a precision load-sensing transducer engineered to accurately measure strain levels in various metal stamping presses. Designed for versatility, it can be mounted directly onto the upright columns of straight-side presses or the throat area of OBI and gap frame presses using either drill/tap or weld/pad methods. When integrated with Helm monitoring systems, the HT400 provides linear strain level outputs, which are displayed on digital meters for real-time monitoring.

Ordering Information

The standard HT400 sensor package includes:

• 35 feet of cable (Model HT-400-35)
• Four mounting screws
• Two anti-torque washers
• Hex wrench

Custom cable lengths and comprehensive installation kits compatible with Helm load monitoring systems are available upon request.

Installation Options

Drilled-Hole Mounting

Requires the DF-400 drill fixture:

1. Position the fixture and drill the center hole.
2. Tap the hole and secure the fixture to the press, ensuring proper alignment.
3. Drill the remaining four holes to a depth of 3/4 inch. Remove the fixture and tap the holes.
4. Mount the HT400 sensor using the provided hardware.

Weld-Pad Mounting

Requires the WF-400 weld fixture and a set of WP-400 weld pads:

1. Clean the mounting surface to prepare for welding.
2. Attach the weld pads to the weld fixture.
3. With a gloved hand, hold the welding fixture with weld pads against the press.
4. Remove the weld fixture.
5. Mount the HT400 sensor using the provided hardware.
