Helm Strain Gain HT400
The Helm Strain Gain HT400 is a precision load-sensing transducer engineered to accurately measure strain levels in various metal stamping presses. Designed for versatility, it can be mounted directly onto the upright columns of straight-side presses or the throat area of OBI and gap frame presses using either drill/tap or weld/pad methods. When integrated with Helm monitoring systems, the HT400 provides linear strain level outputs, which are displayed on digital meters for real-time monitoring.
Key Features
- High-Output Strain Gage Design: Utilizes a 350-ohm full Wheatstone bridge circuit to ensure long-term stability and precise measurements.

Installation Options
Drilled-Hole Mounting
Requires the DF-400 drill fixture:
- Position the fixture and drill the center hole.
- Tap the hole and secure the fixture to the press, ensuring proper alignment.
- Drill the remaining four holes to a depth of 3/4 inch. Remove the fixture and tap the holes.
- Mount the HT400 sensor using the provided hardware.
Weld-Pad Mounting
Requires the WF-400 weld fixture and a set of WP-400 weld pads:
- Clean the mounting surface to prepare for welding.
- Attach the weld pads to the weld fixture.
- With a gloved hand, hold the welding fixture with weld pads against the press.
- Remove the weld fixture.
- Mount the HT400 sensor using the provided hardware.
Accessories
- DF-400 Drill Guide: Facilitates precise drilled-hole mounting.
- WF-400 Weld Fixture: Assists in accurate weld-pad mounting.
