The Gould Modicon B351 Input Module and B350 Output Module are integral components designed for seamless integration with the Micro 84 Programmable Controller, enhancing its input and output capabilities.

B351 Input Module

The B351 Input Module features eight independent and isolated 115 VAC input circuits, each electrically isolated by an optical coupler to ensure protection against voltage transients common in industrial environments. A neon lamp on the field side of each circuit provides a clear ON/OFF status indication, reflecting the input’s true state. The module is housed in a lightweight, durable LEXAN case with a structural “chimney” for convection cooling and moisture protection. Self-contained mounting brackets facilitate easy installation without the need for special I/O housings. The B351 complies with IEEE 472-1974 and ANSI C37.90A standards for surge withstand capability and is UL listed and CSA certified, making it suitable for harsh plant floor environments.

B350 Output Module

The B350 Output Module converts logic signals from the Micro 84 Programmable Controller into eight independent 115 VAC outputs, each capable of driving loads up to 2.0 amperes, such as relays, pilot lamps, motor starters, and solenoids. It utilizes eight triac switches designed to withstand high surge currents typical of industrial loads. Each output is electrically isolated from the controller by an optical coupler, enabling the module and controller to endure severe voltage transients. The module employs a zero-cross switching technique to minimize switching noise, extend the life of the triacs, and improve system reliability. The output circuits are divided into two groups of four outputs each, driven by separate voltage sources. Neon lamps connected to each circuit’s field side display the ON/OFF status of the outputs, indicating their true state. The B350 meets IEEE 472-1974 and ANSI C37.90A standards for surge withstand capability and is UL listed and CSA certified, designed for harsh plant floor environments.
