The Avatar Instruments D1P-24-20 is a proportional, infinitely variable power controller designed to deliver 1-98% of the applied line voltage to directly connected electric heaters. This precise control is achieved through phase angle firing of a TRIAC, making it ideal for applications requiring fine-tuned power adjustments.

Important Considerations

• Load Compatibility: The D1P-24-20 is specifically designed for use with electric heaters. It is not suitable for controlling heaters with high inrush currents (such as tungsten lamps), transformers, or motors.
• Installation Requirements: For safety and optimal performance, the controller must be installed in a grounded enclosure by a qualified electrician. Ensure compliance with all applicable local and national electrical codes during installation.
• Fuse Protection: Semi-conductor/rectifier I²T fusing is required to protect the TRIAC. Please note that the fuse is not included with the unit and must be sourced separately.
• Safety Warning: The potentiometer terminals are at line voltage potential. Proper precautions should be taken to prevent electrical shock during operation and maintenance.

Avatar Instruments offers a comprehensive three-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering parts and labor against component failure and defects in workmanship. This warranty does not cover damage due to shipping, abuse, misapplication, or operation beyond specified ratings. Fuses and improperly fused SCRs/TRIACs are also excluded from this warranty.
