Installation and Compatibility
The 1746-IB32/D module is compatible with all SLC 500 processors and can be installed in any available slot of the 1746 chassis, except slot 1, which is reserved for the controller. It supports local installation alongside the controller, in an expansion I/O rack, or in a remote I/O chassis with an appropriate communication adapter. The module features a removable terminal block, facilitating easy wiring and maintenance.

This module is suitable for interfacing with various electrical devices such as switches, sensors, and auxiliary contacts, making it ideal for general-purpose DC input applications in industrial automation systems.
Note
Ensure that power is removed from the chassis during installation, as the 1746-IB32/D does not support removal and insertion under power (RIUP).
